Ísfélag hf. var stofnað árið 1901 og er elsta starfandi hlutafélag landsins. Félagið gerir út fjögur uppsjávarskip, einn frystitogara, tvö bolfiskskip og einn krókabát. Félagið er með starfsstöðvar í Vestmannaeyjum, á Siglufirði, í Þorlákshöfn og á Þórshöfn. Félagið rekur frystihús og fiskimjölsverksmiðju í Vestmannaeyjum og á Þórshöfn og rækjuverksmiðju á Siglufirði.
"The company is a limited liability company and is named "Ísfélag Vestmannaeyja." Its headquarters and annual meetings are in Vestmannaeyjar. Its purpose is to gather ice, store it for the preservation of food and bait, trade with it and what it preserves, and support the improvement of fishing methods of fish, that are beneficial to store in ice."
